Aleksei P. Tkachev & Sergei P. Tkachev collaborative piece

This work was purchased in Moscow in the early 90’s from the artist’s studio. The scene relates to the 1995 work “Our Yard” which is pictured on page 9 of their book “Masters of Russian Impressionism."

In “Harvest” they capture the view of summer’s work with a changing background sky. As they write in their book, haymaking and the excitement of the harvest inspired many of their paintings.
