In 1982, Jones Fine Art and Antiques began selling American paintings.

In the early 90's, after the wall came down, we were introduced to and began to study Russian and Soviet painting since 1945.

We were greatly impressed by the top artists. Their academic training was similar to the European academies of the last century. Their technical ability was built on a foundation of years of figure drawing and anatomy studies. The subject matter they chose affected our sensibilities like American and European regional impressionists.

Our collectors’ response to Russian art has been tremendous. The art reflects the strength of the human spirit during difficult times while documenting a great historic and political experiment.
